Our History
Founded in 1998 by master technician Robert Mitchell, Professional Auto Service began as a small two-bay garage dedicated to honest, quality repairs. Robert, having worked for several dealerships, recognized a gap in the market for transparent, customer-focused auto care. With an initial investment from his savings and a small business loan, he opened the first location in downtown Springfield.
Within five years, our reputation for exceptional service and technical expertise allowed us to expand to our current 10,000 square foot facility. In 2008, we became one of the first shops in the region to achieve ASE Blue Seal certification, recognizing our commitment to employing only certified technicians across all service areas.
A pivotal moment came in 2015 when Robert's daughter, Elena Mitchell, joined the business after completing her automotive engineering degree and gaining experience at a major manufacturer. Her forward-thinking approach helped modernize our operations with advanced diagnostic equipment and digital service records, bridging traditional craftsmanship with cutting-edge technology.
Today, we're proud to be a family-owned business serving second and third-generation customers. Our team has grown to 15 specialized technicians and service professionals, many of whom have been with us for over a decade. As we look toward the future, we remain committed to our founding principles while embracing innovations that allow us to better serve our community's evolving automotive needs.
